Homeless Prevention Center – People’s City Mission

The Homeless Prevention Center is located at 26th and O Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. The Prevention Center makes items such as food, clothing, personal care needs, furniture and household goods available at no charge to the poor and near homeless. It is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for shopping, and Monday through Friday for donation drop off. The Community Justice Center

(CJC) is a not-for-profit, public safety organization addressing the needs of crime victims, correctional institutions, offenders and communities.

CJC has provided these unique classes to correctional institutions since 2001 and adult probation in 2006, complimenting their existing programming. CJC recommends all offenders and addicts take the class at the beginning of their institutional and community based supervision. Institutional staff has reported that offenders are less defensive and easier to supervise after completing CJC instruction, resulting in a noticeable reduction in misconduct reports and lower recidivism rates.  5625 “O” Street, Suite 114

Barnabas Community

The Barnabas Community Free Store and Gathering Place is Sheridan’s grassroots effort to alleviate the burden of poverty in Lincoln. Barnabas Project began November of 2008 through a cooperative agreement between People’s City Mission, Sheridan Lutheran Church and Spirit of Hope Lutheran Church. BLUESTEM HEALTH (formally PEOPLE’S HEALTH CENTER)  Bluestem Health offers an integrated and comprehensive service delivery system for the provision of primary, dental and behavioral health care services that are client-driven, culturally sensitive and family-focused. This model allows People’s Health Center to provide cost-effective services to those in the community with the greatest health needs, while at the same time ensuring continuity of care and coordination between services. They serve all patients regardless of inability to pay.
